Body weight workout with fighting techniques and body weight exercises is a dynamic and effective form of exercise that combines martial arts techniques with traditional body weight exercises. This type of workout involves using your own body weight as resistance to build strength, endurance, and improve overall fitness levels. The workout typically consists of a series of movements that focus on developing speed, agility, and power, while also improving balance, flexibility, and coordination. These movements are inspired by various martial arts styles, such as kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing, and karate, and are designed to challenge your cardiovascular system and build lean muscle mass. During a typical session, you may perform a variety of exercises, including punches, kicks, knee strikes, and other striking techniques, as well as squats, lunges, push-ups, and planks. The workout is often performed in a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) format, which means you’ll work hard for short bursts of time, followed by brief periods of rest. This approach helps to keep your heart rate elevated, allowing you to burn calories and fat while building endurance and strength. In addition to the physical benefits, body weight workouts with fighting techniques can also be mentally stimulating and empowering. As you learn and practice new techniques, you’ll develop a greater sense of self-confidence and control, which can carry over into other areas of your life. Overall, body weight workouts with fighting techniques are a fun and challenging way to improve your fitness levels, build lean muscle mass, and learn new skills. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete, this type of workout can help you achieve your health and fitness goals, while also providing a sense of empowerment and self-discipline.

Micky Ward, known as "Irish" Micky Ward, the pride of Lowell, Massachusetts, is a retired professional boxer turned boxing trainer. Early on, as an amateur pugilist, Micky won 2 New England Golden Gloves Championships before turning pro, where he won his first 14 consecutive fights. In 2000, Ward won the WBU Light Welterweight Championship in a hard-fought battle against Shea Neary, in London, England. A year later, Micky took home his first The Ring magazine Fight of the Year in his bout against Emanuel Burton. In 2002 and 2003, Ward was also awarded The Ring's Fight of the Year for two of his three fights against Arturo Gatti, a thrilling trilogy of fights still talked about today for the sheer will-power and tenacity shown by both fighters. Micky Ward is one of only a handful of professional boxers to ever win consecutive Fight of the Year accolades, let alone three of them in a row. Throughout his illustrious and noteworthy career, Ward was always feared for the power in his left hook to the body: a shot that dropped more than a couple opponents; a shot that has been discussed by pundits for decades. Ward was also the subject of the 2010 Academy Award winning biopic film, The Fighter, which covered his early years as a boxer, as well as the influence his brother Dicky, a former professional fighter himself, had in his development. The film starred Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale (who played Micky and Dicky respectively) and was widely viewed as both a commercial and critical success. After officially retiring, Micky opened his own gym in his home town where he trains the next generation of students of the sweet science. He is looking forward to helping you learn through Live Trained some of the tricks of the trade that made his storied career as memorable as it is.

Michael "Jinx" Spinks
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, which he refers to as the "Show Me" state, Michael "Jinx" Spinks first began making boxing history by winning a gold medal on the United States Olympic team in 1976 in Montreal, Canada. The outstanding and gifted athletes on the team included his brother Leon Spinks, "Sugar" Ray Leonard, Howard Davis, John Tate and Leo Randolph, who also won gold medals. Michael was undisputed and undefeated as a Light Heavyweight Champion from 1981 to 1985, first taking the WBA title from Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, then going on to win the WBC and IBF titles. Michael's defeat of Larry Holmes, who was on a quest to tie Rocky Marciano's record of 49-0 as the heavyweight champion, made boxing history, when he became the first world light-heavyweight champion since Tommy Burns in 1908 to also win the world heavyweight title. His controversial victory over Holmes was named Ring Magazine Upset of the Year. With this victory, Michael and his brother Leon Spinks also become the first pair of brothers ever to be world heavyweight champions, followed two decades later by Vladimir and Vitale Klitscko. In 1986, Michael and Holmes fought a rematch, and had nearly the same result, this time with Spinks winning by a 15 round split decision. Stripped of that crown by the IBF to fight their mandatory challenger, Tony Tucker, and accepting a higher offer to fight Gerry Cooney instead, Spinks knocked Cooney out in five rounds, and then went on to lose by knock-out in June 1988 in the first round to Mike Tyson. A week later, Michael Spinks retired from boxing at the age of 32, with a record of 31 wins and 1 loss, with 21 wins by knockout as a professional. In addition to his success as a heavyweight, Michael is considered one of the greatest light-heavyweight champions and fighters of all times. Even though Michael personally feels that the honor goes to Archie Moore, Spinks was the only light-heavyweight champion to remain undefeated in the entire history of the division since its inception in 1903, as well as the only reigning light-heavyweight champion to win the heavyweight title. East Side Boxing said in a tribute to Spinks, "Michael Spinks went undefeated fighting during the deepest era in Light Heavyweight history. And he beat the real heavyweight champion to win the title, who was also undefeated. Michael Spinks is the most accomplished light-heavyweight champion in history." Michael has been enshrined into the International, National, New Jersey, Rochester, Atlantic City, Boxing Legends, Indiana and Nevada Boxing Halls of Fame, as well as the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame. A father, grandfather and philanthropist, the former champion lives quietly in a seven-bedroom home, not including the guest house, on a seven-acre spread outside Wilmington, Delaware. Aside from being an active member of the Friars Club and participating in their annual Christmas gift giveaway to children and families in need in New York City, Spinks is also known for visiting schools and has sponsored many college scholarship packages, continuously encouraging youth to "pursue their dreams." Michael's unique style of boxing and his "spinxjinx" punch, combined with his unique fitness routines and method of building up muscle, will make him an excellent trainer for Live Trained.

Cliff Ransom
Clifford Ransom, Cliff for short, has a wealth of experience in the world of combat sports. He started out in kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do back in the 1970s, and eventually became the pad man and one of the primary trainers of the heavyweight champion of the world, Larry Holmes. Cliff was there through all of Holmes' biggest fights and is one of the main reasons Holmes was as successful as he was in the ring. Cliff still works with up-and-coming boxers and mixed martial artists, and has even branched out into coaching high school football. Cliff is a trainer with a rare quality: he can fight AND he can train people to fight. He is looking forward to helping all levels and age groups accelerate their game through the Live Trained platform.

Herman Caicedo
Herman Caicedo was born in Queens, New York in April 1971 to Colombian parents. In 1976 Mr. Caicedo's family moved to Miami. Today he lives in Sunrise, Florida with his wife and 3 children. Caicedo began the study of combat in 1978 by enrolling in the art of Kenpo Karate, where he achieved the rank of 3rd degree Black Belt by 1987. A year after obtaining a black belt, Mr. Caicedo founded, owned and operated his own martial arts and kickboxing gym for 13 years. Concurrently with managing the martial arts school, Caicedo began to advance his knowledge in the "sweet science" of boxing in order to improve his boxing skills to better coach his kickboxers. During this time he began to volunteer in several South Florida boxing gyms, paying his dues, as they say, before being referred to Angelo Dundee's gym in September 1994. At Dundee's gym, Caicedo cleaned and organized the gym for over a year before he was given any real coaching assignments. By late 1995, alongside Angelo and Luis Laggerman, Head Coaches at Dundee's gym, Caicedo was quickly recognized for his discipline, professionalism and coaching skills, and by the time he left the Dundee's gym in 2000 Caicedo was the Assistant Boxing Coach and trained the likes of Attila Levin, George Scott, Lief Keiski, Nick Rupa, Yuri Schell, and Andre Purlette. Caicedo left Dundee's gym to open, manage and Head Coach at the debut gym Warriors Boxing where he trained Crawford Grimsley and led Andre Purlette to a number two ranking in the World. It was during his time at Warriors Boxing that Caicedo met Shannon Briggs, which was the catalyst to their 12 year fighter/trainer relationship. In 2001 Caicedo was an assistant in the day-to-day training of Briggs. Eventually, in 2003, Caicedo became Head Coach to Briggs, where together they won the WBO World Title defeating Sergei Liachovich in 2006 and challenged Vitali Klitchko in 2010 for his WBC World Title. Between the years 2000 and 2010 Caicedo also trained light heavyweight champion Lou Delvalle and cruiser weight champion Al Cole. In 2010 Caicedo enhanced the breadth of his professional boxing experience by founding Caicedo Sports Training Center and shifting his focus to the recruitment of boxing talent from the bottom up by molding fighters into world title positions. This new venture led Caicedo to the Dominican Republic where he met and signed management deals with some of the country's best boxers from the Dominican Olympic team; such as Juan Carlos Payano, Claudio Marrero, and Yenifel Vicente. Caicedo set up a camp in Miami and these fighters left their native home and sacrificed family and friends to pursue their dreams. On September 26, 2014 Juan Carlos Payano won the WBA Super Bantamweight Title defeating long-standing Super Champion Anselmo Moreno, becoming the first Super Champion in the boxing history from the Dominican Republic. In 2012, while still operating Caicedo Sports, Caicedo was offered and accepted the Head Coach position for Aquinity Sports Promotion, which later merged into Iron Mike Tyson Promotions. As Head Coach for Aquinity, Caicedo managed a team of boxing trainers which included Irish Micky Ward and Stacey McKinney. Caicedo resigned from the Head Coach position in October 2013 to take on a Head Coach position for King Kong Boxing, which included heavyweights Luis Ortiz and Edwin Alvarez as well as light heavyweight Ramon Luis. In 2014 Caicedo guided Heavyweight Luis Ortiz to the WBA Interim World by title knocking out Lateef Kayode in the first round. In January 2015, Caicedo was offered and accepted the Head coaching job for all fighters with Probox Management. Probox is owned and operated by Henry Rivalta and Gary Jonas and consists of top prospects such as Erickson Lubin, Dennis Galarza, Leo Hall, Sammy Figueroa, and recently crowned under Caicedo's tutelage, 122 pound Interim Champion Moises "Chucky" Flores by defeating champion Oscar Escandon for his title in a 12 round war. Currently, between Caicedo Sports, Probox Management and King Kong Boxing, Caicedo is Head Coach to 14 fighters and manages the careers of several. Today, Caicedo's roster includes Luis Ortiz, Ramon Luis, Edwin Alvarez, Edison Miranda, Yenifel Vicente, Juan Carlos Payano, Claudio Marrero, Yudel Johnson, Lenin Castillo, Erickson Lubin, Dennis Galarza, Sammy Figueroa, Leo Hall and Moises Flores; all of whom are either World Champions, Interim World Champions, top rated undefeated contenders or top rising prospects. Most of Herman Caicedo's life has been dedicated to the career of combat and for the past 22 years Caicedo has been devoted full time to the art of boxing in South Florida. He has made some big sacrifices, working 12 hour days and making boxing his life-long career. It has been a long, and at times very difficult, road, but the satisfaction of the Champions he has developed and the many Champions he trained along the way has been well worth it!

Larry Holmes was born on November 3, 1949, in Cuthbert, Georgia, the son of John and Flossie Holmes. He is married to Diane and has five children: Misty. Lisa, Belinda, Kandy, and Larry Jr. Larry began boxing at St. Anthony's youth Center in Easton, Pennsylvania in the early 1960s. His amateur boxing career spanned from 1969-1973. Holmes was hired as a sparring partner for Joe Frazier in 1971 and became a professional boxer in 1973. He went on to be the sparring partner for Muhammad Ali from 1973 to 1975. And on the evening of June 9, 1978, Holmes won the WBC heavyweight title from Ken Norton. Holmes defended the title for five years and 17 matches until he voluntarily relinquished the WBC belt to hold the championship of the new International Boxing Federation (IBF). The Holmes vs Cooney fight still holds the record for the highest attended boxing event in U.$. history, with 29,214 fans in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Holmes experienced his first professional loss in a controversial decision against Michael Spinks in 1985. This fight outraged many fans, and especially Holmes, as he was one win away from reaching Rocky Marciano's record of winning 49 consecutive professional fights. Outside the ring Holmes is a businessman. His endeavors and investments over the years have showcased his entrepreneurial skills. Holmes' business empire has included: a newly constructed 5 story office building on 3.2 acres on Larry Holmes Drive in Easton P.A., a restaurant named Larry Holmes Ringside, a 2nd newly-constructed commercial property which housed "Champs Corner," a restaurant-club where you could frequently find Holmes greeting his customers and the Larry Holmes Training Center in Easton and the Commodore Inn in Phillipsburg, NJ. Holmes' real estate empire also boasted a 100,000 square foot office complex with long-term Federal government and local Fortune 500 companies, the Federal Courthouse, Manpower Employment Agency, Allied Employment Agency, mortgage and financial institutions, Charity bingo hall, USBL basketball team, travel agency, fitness gym, and law offices. Holmes also had his hands in developing a new pain relief lotion called "024." The life of Larry Holmes has been depicted in a documentary called "In the Arena" by Playback Pictures. Larry's determination, skill and show stopping bouts earned him a place in the International Boxing Hall of Fame, as he was inducted and honored on June 8, 2008. The former champion found time in his busy schedule to make a contribution to people worldwide as he co-wrote an autobiography with Phil Berger titled "Against the Odds." The book was written with clear the intention to encourage people to grow out of poverty and overcome the hardships facing them, as he did. With a legend's heart, Larry is known as a philanthropist and motivational speaker. On December 13, 2015 Larry Holmes was immortalized in bronze as Easton Pennsylvania honored him for being a champion in and out of the ring with a statue in Scott's Park. Larry Holmes: A champion. A legend.

Embracing Life's Challenges, 1 Punch at a Time: Luiz Faye. I have always been an active person, enjoying sports since childhood. My first love has always been swimming; however, growing up, I was often hindered by recurring pain and injuries to my knees. This didn't affect my day to day life, until I was in my late 20's, whilst serving as a police officer. By the age of 29, the problems had worsened and were now affecting my pelvis and back. After 2 years of investigation and procedures I was diagnosed as having a mild form of hip dysplasia, which could be corrected and repaired with surgery. In spring 2016, the operation went ahead. In the months that followed, I learned that the surgery hadn't been successful. Further tests diagnosed a degenerative condition affecting the disks in my spine, pelvis and nerves in my legs. In March 2017, I was medically retired from a ten year career in the police service. Day to day life had changed. To be honest, I had struggled to cope with the transition into my new life; but after a year of feeling sorry for myself, I decided that I had to take back some control! I moved closer to my family in Yorkshire, re-qualified as a Swimming Instructor & Aromatherapist. Later that year, I went on to launch my business. In honour of chronic pain warriors, I named it Kronik Warrior UK. Eager to remain as active as possible, I joined a local gym. Since the surgery, I felt weak and unfit. I'd lost a lot of confidence in my own abilities and desperately needed to get it back! I was lucky enough to find a fantastic personal trainer who helped to get me back on that path. During one of my training sessions with him I mentioned that I had always thought about giving boxing a try, but had never got round to doing it. He smiled and simply suggested "Why don't you do it in your wheelchair?!" It didn't take much thinking for me to say yes to the challenge! I immediately fell in love with the sport. I guess you could say I was ‘hooked!' Adaptive Boxing wasn't a recognized sport so finding a club or coach to help me progress wasn't going to be easy. Not to be defeated, the search began and in Spring 2019 I found a club who invited me for a visit. Within 10 minutes of being there, I'd got my two wheelchairs out of the car and everyone wanted to have a go at this cool new version of the sport! The whole team welcomed me with open arms! I knew instantly that I would be happy there. I absolutely loved spending time at the club, absorbing as much information as I could. It felt like a part of my life that had always been missing. Within a few weeks, I became a voluntary mentor at the club and we welcomed our first adaptive boxers. In October 2019 I was invited by the World Boxing Council to attend their annual convention in Mexico to launch their recreational safer adaptive boxing program in the presence of the heads of professional boxing for 166 countries and over 90 world champions! I became their first ever female adaptive boxer and coach. In February 2020 I qualified as an England Boxing Coach, becoming one of only 2 wheelchair users in the UK to date to do this. Since then I have worked alongside GB Disability Boxing in collaboration with the national governing body, Wales Boxing and the Paralympic Committee to develop a pathway for inclusion boxing within amateur clubs. This is with the common goal of adaptive boxing becoming a recognized competitive sport. In March 2020 life as we all knew it changed dramatically as the world went into lock-down due to Covid 19. Although we didn't know it at the time, the pandemic would mean that the gym I had been coaching at would close its doors for good. With no access to exercise or human contact in some cases, immediately I was concerned for the emotional well-being of our boxers so I decided to put on some free online adaptive boxing classes. Initially there were just the five of us, but as we began posting about our sessions on social media, the interest began to grow. The free sessions were offered for the first 10 weeks of the initial lock-down and were quickly extended due to their high demand. As the lock down restrictions started to ease, the need absolutely remained for accessible fitness and these classes were too beneficial to the community not to continue. It was due to their popularity and feedback from the members that in August 2020, we launched a full online and gym-based Adaptive Boxing program (which is currently held at Stefy Bull Fitness Centre), with our free sessions always remaining at the heart of it. I believe passionately that adaptive boxing is an incredible craft which can be enjoyed by all. This sport can significantly improve quality of life through functional, transferable skills that can be used on a day to day basis. The exercises can provide a range of physical benefits from increased fitness levels, strength and conditioning, to hand-eye coordination, memory and core stability/mobility.

In the wild and wicked world of boxing, Gerry Cooney is a rarity: a fighter who has enjoyed success in and out of the ring. As a world-class heavyweight, Cooney advanced to number-one contender. In 1982, he challenged Larry Holmes in one of the most anticipated title fights in history. As a businessman, Cooney has promoted championship boxing shows, owned share of several minor league baseball teams, and founded F.I.S.T. Cooney was born in New York City on August 24, 1956, and raised in Huntington, Long Island. His amateur boxing career was highlighted by a pair of New York Golden Gloves titles and an invitation to the 1976 Olympic Trials. His overall amateur record was 55-3. Standing 6'6" and scaling 225 pounds, Cooney turned professional in 1977. He won his first 25 bouts, including knockout victories over former world champion Ken Norton and perennial contenders Ron Lyle and Jimmy Young. On June 11, 1982, before a crowd of 32,000 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Cooney faced the unbeaten WBC World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes in a title fight of such magnitude that it was hyped on the cover of "Time." Cooney fought valiantly before suffering defeat in round 13. The bout drew a then-record gate of $7.29 million. Cooney went on to engage in high-profile bouts vs. Michael Spinks and George Foreman. He retired in 1990, having compiled a pro mark of 28-3 with 24 knockouts and was ranked 53rd on Ring Magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. Cooney has maintained close ties to boxing. From 1988 to 1992, he served as president of Gentleman Gerry Productions, promoting bouts involving ring legends Roberto Duran, Hector Camacho, and Foreman. Today, Gerry lends his support to various charities and is often sought out to tell his story. He is a vocal advocate speaking out against drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence. On Monday and Friday nights, he co-hosts a boxing radio show "Friday Night at the Fights" on Sirius radio. In his free time Gerry enjoys golf and teaches boxing. Alfred Rudolph Cole (born April 21, 1964), best known as Ice Cole, is an American former professional boxer. "Ice" Cole is a multifaceted individual with many different talents in athletics, fitness training and acting. AMATEUR CAREER: Cole's (AKA Sergeant Cole) initial interest in sports were football, basketball and baseball. At the of age of 19 and while serving as a Sergeant in the US Army in Fort Hood, Texas, Sergeant Cole came across a sign that advertised a novice boxing tournament. He expressed interest in learning more and the trainer at the time noted that while Sergeant Cole lacked (boxing) skills, he possessed head and heart. In the weeks and months that followed, the training and competition he endured was Sergeant Cole's true initiation into the sport. Four years later, he won a gold medal in the Olympic trials. Overall, Sergeant Cole had a notable amateur career with a record of 85-10. PROFESSIONAL CAREER: As a professional, standing at 6'4", Ice Cole was a large and dominant cruiserweight boxer. He won his first professional title for the vacant USBA Cruiserweight Championship on March 8, 1991. Sixteen months later, Ice, now the 20-1 (12kos) number one contender in the IBF, the WBA and the WBC, won the IBF World Cruiserweight title and became the new world champion on July 30, 1992. He defended the IBF world title five times and even became the first American to defend a title in Moscow, Russia. Notably, it was the first professional world title fight ever held in that country. Ice also professionally boxed in Sweden and Africa. The third man in the "Triple Threat," which was comprised of Ice, Ray Mercer and Charles Murray, Ice was the dominant champion in his division and no other champion cared to answer his challenges to unify the Cruiserweight belts. His lack of challengers and pursuit of competition led to Ice's move to the heavyweight division, where he was less successful. This did not overshadow his accomplishments at the Cruiserweight level, as he was considered one of the absolute best in the history of the division. ACCOLADES: Ice has many accolades, which include, but are not limited to: Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee in New York, New Jersey & Atlantic City, NJ. Ice was Named Cruiserweight Fighter of the Year by Ring Magazine, 1991; US Boxing Association Cruiserweight title/belt 1991-1992; Named Cruiserweight Fighter of the Year by the IBF 1992, Named Fighter of the Decade by Ring Magazine for the Cruiserweight Division 1990-2000. Ice was one of the fight choreographers who trained Will Smith to accurately portray Muhammad Ali in the "Ali" motion picture. He also played the role of one of the opposing fighters in the movie. Ice acted in other movie roles, such as Rebound with Catherine Zeta Jones, and the Night and the City starring Robert De Niro. He earned roles in television on Cops, Americas Most Wanted, The Jury, Without a Trace and Law & Order. PRESENT DAY: Ice is a lifetime expert of fitness, health, nutrition and general well-being. He uses his multifaceted talents to train professional athletes in various sports, personal training, managing nutrition and wellness habits, and helps countless individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. As a veteran of the US Army, Ice gives back to the community by volunteering his time to mentor and train veterans and others in under-served communities, as well as mentorship of our youth. My name is Ty Walz and I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I started wrestling when I was in 8th grade, something that I always felt like was a disadvantage at first. I attended wrestling powerhouse Lakewood St. Edward and it was there that I truly fell in love with the sport. My sophomore year I won a Cadet National Championship while in Fargo. This was my first taste of success at any level of wrestling and it made me realize how starting late was a blessing because I was still fresh and hungry to continue learning. My senior year I was a 220lbs Ohio State Champion and was actively being recruited by a number of schools. I ended up deciding on Virginia Tech and made the move to Blacksburg, Virgina. I moved up to heavyweight in college and while competing for the Hokies I was a 3X All-American, an ACC Champion, and part of our 4th Place trophy winning team in 2016. Immediately after college I started wrestling at the senior level on the freestyle circuit. The first step that I took in freestyle was cutting down from heavyweight to compete at 97kg. I made a U23 World Team right out of college and was a 2017 U23 World Championships Bronze Medalist. Stateside I was also able to make two US National Teams in 2018 and 2019. Along with these accolades my freestyle career blessed me with a heap of experience from all over the world. My freestyle credentials are still continuing to grow as I am an active competitor working to make World and Olympic teams training with the South East Regional Training Center (SERTC) at Virginia Tech. In addition to competing after graduation I was on staff at Virginia Tech as a Volunteer assistant 2017-2018 and an Assistant Coach in 2018-2019. My passion for wrestling has only grown stronger since my humble beginnings in 8th grade. The sport continues to mold me into who I am today and there are few things I find more gratifying than helping others succeed. I truly look forward to helping all those interested in making the most of themselves through the sport of wrestling.

I attended Richmond High School where I won four individual wrestling state titles and two team state titles. Being that I was a three sport athlete in high school, I did not attend many national tournaments. However, high school is where I really began to take a deeper interest in the sport of wrestling and ultimately knew that was the sport I wanted to pursue at the collegiate level. Out of high school I attended Indiana University where I spent my first three years wrestling in college. I was a two-time NCAA qualifier for the Hoosiers before I decided I needed to make a move and finished out my remaining time at the University of Minnesota. There I went on to be an NCAA All American in 2019 and in 2020 and I was awarded NWCA First Team All American honors after our season was cut short due to Covid. After college, my attention shifted from folkstyle to freestyle where I trained with the Gopher Wrestling Club. That year was faced with trials and restrictions, but I still worked hard to grow my craft. In my short freestyle career, I was a runner up at the U23 World Team Trials and placed third at the 2021 US Open. I was recently given the opportunity to come out to Ithaca, New York and wrestle for Spartan Combat RTC. Here I am surrounded by some of the best freestyle minds who I know will help me to maximize my potential. As I continue to learn and grow in the sport of wrestling, I hope I can help others do the same. I am really excited to connect with athletes in real time from all over.

As the son of a wrestling coach, my dad wanted to have me wrestle later than most little kids usually get introduced to wrestling. I had other ideas when I told him at the age of 3 that I wanted to wrestle, and I've been wrestling ever since. Early in my career I achieved the title of Schoolboy National Champion in Greco Roman and FILA Cadet National Champion in Freestyle, going on to represent Team USA and placing 5th at the Cadet World Championships at 63 kilograms. I also was a 3X Fargo placer, TOC Champion, 4X Nevada State Champion, and top 100 recruit, deciding to continue my wrestling career at the University of Missouri. In college I was a 4X NCAA qualifier, All-American and Runner-Up my Redshirt Junior year at 157 pounds. I was also a 2X MAC Conference Champion and part of the Mizzou team that took 4th place at the NCAA tournament. ÂAt Mizzou I earned the honor of "Most Pins" among my team my Freshman year, ranked first among wins and duel major decisions during my Redshirt Junior year and posted a winning percentage of 0.935 my Redshirt Junior season which was the 10th best in the program's history. I finished my collegiate career with a record of 114-29 with 26 major decisions, 10 technical falls, 19 falls and a member of the Mizzou 100 Win Club. Following my college wrestling career, I have had the opportunity to wrestle for the Valley Regional Training Center, Lehigh Valley Wrestling Club, Athletes in Action Wrestling Ministry and have been a part of the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club team since the start of my post-collegiate career. During my post-collegiate wrestling career, I have placed at Senior Nationals twice, participated in the World Team Trials twice, won the Last Chance Senior World Team Trials, placed 3rd at the Dave Shultz Memorial International and placed internationally at the Cerro Pelado/Granma Cup in Cuba. I have had a passion for the sport of wrestling that started when I was 3 and will continue to work hard and dedicate myself to the sport to not only better my career but to prepare myself to pass on my knowledge to the next generation of wrestlers.

John Hughes enters his 12th season on the Mountain Hawks' coaching staff, and his eighth as Lehigh's associate head coach. A three-time All-American and former NCAA Champion at Penn State, Hughes helped guide the Mountain Hawks to 144 dual wins in 11 seasons in Bethlehem, plus top ten NCAA finishes in 2011 and 2012, after spending the previous five seasons at his alma mater. Hughes works with wrestlers from almost every weight class, but the development of Lehigh's middleweights under him was evident over the last seven seasons. In the 2011-12 season, Shane Welsh won a three-man battle for the starting spot at 149 and went on to win an EIWA title as the No. 6 seed. Welsh, Brian Tanen and Brandon Hatchett all qualified for the NCAA Championships at 149, 157 and 165 respectively. Hatchett also won an EIWA title and earned his second All-American medal after reaching the NCAA finals as the No. 11 seed. In 2012-13, Hughes worked closely with Joey Napoli, who came back from a deferred year to post an 18-4 record at 157, capturing an EIWA title and earning the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Championships. In the last four seasons he has helped Mitch Minotti to a pair of All-America medals plus a Midlands title and an EIWA runner-up finish. Lehigh has developed tremendous depth at the middleweights with Ian Brown and Drew Longo performing well when Minotti went down with an injury. Gordon Wolf began the 2015-16 season as Lehigh's fourth-string 157 pounder but Wolf moved up to 174 and qualified for the NCAA Championships. The 2016-17 season saw the emergence of freshman Jordan Kutler as a Southern Scuffle champion and a top five-ranked wrestler through most of the regular season. Senior captain Laike Gardner fell one win short of All-America honors at 149, while 165, led by Minotti and freshman Cole Walter proved to be one of Lehigh's deepest and most talented weight classes. The 2017-18 season saw Hughes work with a Lehigh team that went 12-3 in duals, won the program's first EIWA title since 2006 and qualified all 10 wrestlers for the NCAA Championships for the first time under the current qualifying system. Lehigh won its second straight EIWA title in 2019 with middleweights Cortlandt Schuyler, Josh Humphreys and Gordon Wolf all qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Humphreys became just Lehigh's second true freshman EIWA Champion since 1980 and he and Wolf reached the All-America round of 12 at the NCAA Championships. Hughes is regarded as one of the toughest wrestlers in Penn State history. He won an NCAA Championship at 142 in 1995 and added All-American honors with a seventh place finish in 1994 and a runner-up finish in 1996. Hughes amassed 121 career victories for the Nittany Lions. In addition to his national title, Hughes was the 1995 Big Ten Champion and also won a gold medal at the 1994 Pan-Am Games and a University National Freestyle Championship. In five seasons on the coaching staff at Penn State, Hughes made a profound and immediate impact in the training room. Working predominantly with the Nittany Lion middleweights, Hughes helped guide Bubba Jenkins and Dan Vallimont to All-American honors in 2008, while as a team, Penn State crowned four All-Americans and finished third in the team standings, the program's best finish since 1994. Hughes also played a major role in Penn State's recruiting efforts which have produced recruiting classes that were among the nation's best, and has continued that tradition at Lehigh as the Mountain Hawks have brought in nationally-ranked recruiting classes, including one of the nation's top three classes which entered in the fall of 2012. A native of Stillwater, Pennsylvania, Hughes won four PIAA state championships wrestling for Benton High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in landscape contracting from Penn State in 2002. Prior to joining the Penn State coaching staff on a full time basis, Hughes served as head coach for the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. He also enjoyed a stint as an assistant coach for the Pittsburgh Wrestling Club and worked as an environmental technician for Groundwater and Environmental Services, Inc. Hughes and his wife Melissa have a son, Riley and a daughter, Morgan. High School: Benton H.S. College Career: Penn State 1992-1996 College Degree: B.S. Landscape Contracting, Penn State Coaching Career: Asst. Pittsburgh Wrestling Club (2000-2001), Asst. Nittany Lion Wrestling Club (2001-2003), Asst. Penn State (2003-2008), Asst. Lehigh (2008-present) Career Highlights: National champion at 142 in 1995… three-time All-American… University National Champion…Pan-Am Games gold medalist.

Hi, everyone! My name is Elle Dawson and I currently live and train in South Florida. I'm a professional MMA fighter in the atomweight division with a nearly perfect finishing rate. I have been training and fighting since 2015 and I am excited for my opportunity to enter the big leagues! Before I found MMA, I was heavily involved in the bodybuilding world. I grew up in the weightroom and started lifting at the age of 10. I became obsessed with training and later fell in love with nutrition while studying molecular biology in college. I swapped my research lab position for a barbell and started pursuing certifications in personal training and nutrition through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I've worked with clients within the training and nutrition space for over a decade, from weight loss clients to professional combat athletes. As a child lifting and competing in sports, there was a serious lack of knowledge available to me when it came to nutrition and proper training. At the time, myths surrounding strength training and nutrition for children clouded the industry. There were very few resources available and there was also so much conflicting information. And as a kid who desperately wanted to be strong and compete, I was in need of guidance. Instead I learned a lot through trial, error and periods of seriously disordered eating. It wasn't until after I graduated and dove into my studies in nutrition that I realized how big of an issue it was. One of my biggest passions in life is to provide better resources for these young athletes so that the next generation can be stronger, healthier and more educated! I moved to South Florida in the spring of 2022 with my then-fiance Grant. Since then we have been married and live with our two pittie mixes. We both left our midwestern roots to chase our dreams of becoming world champions. He currently fights for the UFC and is unbeaten in the promotion. We get to train side by side every day and then come home to our pups. We love Florida life and the beach! We are major foodies and love going out for burgers, sushi and Mediterranean food. We also love making healthy dupes of our favorite foods at home and have definitely mastered the perfect burger and air-fryer chicken sandwich! I love coaching others almost as much as I love training and I'm so excited to be able to serve as a resource to those who may not know what to do or how to get started. Join my classes for a fun, quick and technical MMA fitness workout. You can also sign up for one-on-one coaching sessions with me! I would love to answer your questions about nutrition, training, MMA or anything else you want to know. Din Thomas is an MMA Pioneer. Din first began training Martial Arts in 1995 when it was commonly referred to as "NHB" (No Holds Barred). Shortly after Din began training, he started competing in amateur Pankration matches in South Florida. After making a name for himself on the local circuit, Din moved to Orlando, FL to further his training and continue his competitive fighting career. Din turned pro in 1998 and quickly built a reputation as one of the best lightweights in the country. After only 6 fights, Din was invited to compete in arguably Japan's most prestigious organization, Shooto, and take on the #1 ranked fighter in Japan, Caol Uno. Even after losing that match, he impressed the Japanese so much that they ranked him #7 and invited him to come back and compete against Mishima Dojokonske. Din finished Mishima by TKO in the 2nd round. However, perhaps Din's most memorable performance was finishing Jens Pulver (first UFC lightweight Champion) by flying heel hook. In Din's illustrious 15 year professional fighting career, he has compiled a record of 26-9, has competed all over the world, and was regarded as one of the best lightweights of his time. He had a stint with the UFC from 2001-2004, and then again from 2006-2008. He was also featured as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter Season 4: The Comeback. Since Din's retirement, Din has developed a reputation as one of MMA's best coaches and sharpest minds in the game. He has been twice nominated as "Coach of the Year" by Fight World Magazine MMA Awards. He has worked with Tyron Woodley, Amanda Nunes, Dustin Poirier, Kyoji Horiguchi, and many other world-class competitors. Even during his competitive years, Din had a penchant for acting and entertaining. In addition to acting in films and plays, Din regularly performs improv comedy in South Florida. It's those improvisation skills that caught the attention of UFC President, Dana White and landed Din on the reality show, "Dana White: Lookin' For A Fight." That show then allowed for Din to have his own UFC-produced show, "The Din Diaries." Din's knowledge of MMA and his flare for the camera now has him as a regular on the UFC's broadcast team and co-host of the morning weigh-in shows. Din can also be heard daily in South Florida on Josh Cohen and The HomeTeam on ESPN West Palm, and heard weekly on SiriusXM's "MMA Today" on Fight Nation.

Hi! My name is Aspen Ladd, and I became involved with mixed martial arts at the age of 14 alongside my father and younger brother which led to all five of my siblings practicing martial arts and training 3 to 5 days a week. At the age of 16 I joined MMA Gold in El Dorado Hills, California. I started competing as an amateur at 18 in 2013 with a record of 8-1 in the Flyweight division (125 lbs). As an amateur I was Tuff-N-Uff champion, West Coast Fighting champion, and California Jiu Jitsu champion. In 2014 I made the transition to professional fighter, signing with Invicta; an all female league. My pro debut was in early 2015 and ended with a win by TKO. After 2 fights as a pro in 2016 I made the jump to the bantamweight division and won my final three fights with Invicta FC with a combined record of 5-0 before signing with the UFC. I have 6 fights with the UFC organization competing both in the bantamweight and featherweight division. I am currently 9-1 as a bantamweight fighter, and I have earned 2 performance bonuses. I am currently ranked #4 in the bantamweight division and #15 in the UFC pound for pound rankings. I am considered to be a world class grappler known for control, pressure, top position, and ground and pound. I hope to share the techniques I was taught as a beginner that helped develop my grappling skills. I will also teach and address the new techniques that I learned throughout my career that will allow you to evolve and develop your skill level. I hope to showcase success with moves and attempts, but I will also share how to recover from position change and prepare you for your next set up when control is lost or a move is countered. I like to keep my lessons clear, concise, and straight to the point to better give you a clear understanding of each phase of the techniques I use. I look forward to sharing my experience and being a part of your journey.
